ERRATUM

• The reactor primary cooling circuit is pressurised to deliberately prevent production of steam. Steam is generated in the secondary circuit to drive the turbines.

• A RN submarine watch comprises eight crew including one nuclear qualified engineer officer, a nuclear qualified warrant officer, two or three senior sailors and the remainder junior sailors. Of this team three or so will be on continuous patrol through all main and auxiliary machinery spaces checking status and taking readings (measurements).
